Corner Settee and Ottoman
I had friends over for a river paddle and we congregated in my living room afterwards. Knowing this space naturally attracts guests as it is adjacent to the kitchen, I wanted an informal but more comfortable sitting option. Musicians also frequent this space so armrests aren't very helpful. I asked the group what they thought this space needed and one of my guests, Kiki, a visitor from Holland, suggested a corner settee. I took her idea to heart and produced this design. The curved back slats are walnut bent laminations. The rest of the piece is cherry except for the curved wave elements between the apron and rail. The ottoman can be snugged up to the settee for lounging. This piece is finished with Tried-and-True varnish oil and wax. The leather cushions are custom made by Allied Upholstery in Sacramento. It measures 64"L, 34"W, 27"H, (seat height is 19"). The Ottoman is 27"L, 27"W, 19"H.
