Corner Book Cabinets
This example is a set of five pieces, built one at a time over the course of about a year. I love books and needed a place to store and display them where I most often hang out--my living room. The hanging cabinets are mounted on oak cleats that can handle lots of weight securely. The mullions are half-lapped and dovetailed into the stiles and rails of the glass doors. The middle shelf runs clear through the cabinets from the outside.The floor cabinets have inlays depicting alder leaves and flowers. Both cabinets are primarily alder and cherry, finished with polyurethane (tops only) and Tried-and-True varnish oil.  It measures 72"L, 17"W, 30"H.
