Reach-Across Table 2
This was a commission for a lovely couple in Sacramento who have a spare bedroom that has a bridge theme. There's a Golden Gate Bridge wall hanging sculpture and several other bridge motifs in the room. It's essentially a reproduction of my first "Reach Across Table." I'm a fan of subtle movement in furniture form. I like that the eye can follow the structure of this piece around to each of the four legs and yet it doesn't really resolve. You want to go around again! This piece has a walnut top and bent lamination walnut legs. The "bridge" supports and apron are black cherry. The top is finished with polyurethane while the rest is Tried and True varnish oil. It measures 43"L, 11"W, 33"H. |
