Bass 1
I've built guitars for several years (studio furniture before that) but never a bass guitar. This is my first. Wrapping my head around new dimension numbers was the first hurdle. My through-neck construction allowed a more abbreviated off-set body design, not quite jazz master, not quite jazz. The oak top is a from a special board I acquired years ago. I worried about the weight that white oak imparts but generous internal chambers bring this bass in at a comfortable 9.5 lbs. A padouk body sandwich that continues through the neck and headstock add to the visual appeal. Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound pickups wire JP style with a 3-way selector switch, neck-both-bridge. The hand rubbed oil/varnish finish make this bass a very comfortable player. All guitars I make come with lifetime maintenance and adjustment to your specification. |
